Things are going pretty great here! Jon has his third and final interview today!! Hopefully all goes well and we will hear within the next week about everything.

Justus is doing well. He is still getting up really early and will wake up at least once in the middle of the night, but no sign of any teeth just yet. I have found that he really loves grilled cheese sandwiches, so I have been making him those for lunch lately. He's doing okay with the vegetables, but still would much rather have bread or crackers or somthing along those lines. I'm thinking we might have a picky eater on our hands!!

Matthias is getting big!! He will be 4 months old on Saturday!! I can hardly believe it. He is starting to laugh as well. The other day we were in Target, and I was playing with his feet and he just started giggling. It was so cute! I had him going for at least a couple of minutes. Today Matthias took his first bath with big brother! It went rather well, although I will have to come up with a different method from now on because I wasn't very prepared for getting them out. Since I can't leave either of them in there unattended I will have to bring diapers in there with me so I can make things a little easier. Matthias doesn't fit in the bath seat very well yet, but he didn't seem to mind it. I might start putting a towel or something in there so he has a little more support. The boys didn't even seem to notice that the other was in there though.

The boys both go back to the doctor in a couple of weeks, so I'm pretty excited about that. Justus is getting so tall!! I'm looking forward to seeing how much both of them have grown. Here's a couple of pictures...

Our New Furniture!

I thought I would post a couple of pictures of our new furniture. It took a while to figure out how to arrange it. The chaise lounge is a lot bigger than we realized! The couch looks REALLY pink in the pictures...but it is actually more of a reddish pink color. I also painted the walls this weekend. You can see it in the picture of the chaise a little.

Not too much is going on here. Things are going really great though! Jon is on the verge of a promotion. There is an opening in his department and they have told him the job is his once they get some stuff cleared up. So we are just patiently waiting now. We are pretty excited!! And...since Jon got his promotion. I got a new couch and as an added bonus a chaise lounge! They are being delivered on Monday...YAY!! I have been wanting a new couch since we got married, so this is definitely exciting news for me!

Justus is doing really well, although I think he is possibly teething because he has been waking up a couple times in the middle of the night and crying. That is very unlike him, so teething is the only thing I can think that might be causing that. I guess we'll see what happens in the next couple of weeks. He is doing really well with his eating. He is open to most things, but sometimes still doesn't want to eat anything. I think I will probably ask the doctor about it when we go in next month. He has gotten better than he was, but it still concerns me that he's not getting enough. We are also pretty sure that he is saying "dada" now. It's pretty cute. The other day he pointed at Jon and said "deedee". He won't say it all the time, but when he does it is cute!

Matthias is getting big!! He is still sleeping through the night, but he does seem to wake up every morning around 430ish and make a little bit of noise. I usually go in and give him his pacifier and he goes back to sleep until around 730. It's pretty nice not to have to get up in the middle of the night and to know that stage is behind us for a while. Matthias is smiling a lot, but still no giggles. I'm so looking forward to his first little laugh. I can tell he is ticklish on his neck and belly, but all he does is smile really big when I tickle him. It's crazy to think he will be 4 months old in just two weeks!! Then we get to start cereal! He is holding his head up pretty well, but still not quite ready for the Bumbo. Maybe in a couple of weeks.

So I am finally starting to feel back to normal. My jaw is still a little stiff, but doesn't hurt nearly as much. I usually don't have to take any pain medicine...just the occasional ibuprofen. It's nice to eat a normal meal as well with out it taking forever!

So a couple of new developments with Justus. He will now eat some canned vegetables!! I am pretty excited about this since he wouldn't even try them before. So far I have gotten him to try peas and sweet potatoes. I think tomorrow I am going to try carrots. Hopefully this trend will continue!! Justus has also started pointing at everything. Sometimes it's things he wants...like his sippy cup or food, and sometimes he just points at things to point. I am trying to make sure he doesn't become dependent on pointing at things though, so when he points at things I say what it is in hopes that eventually he will repeat what I am saying. He has also caught onto how to bounce on his spin and bounce zebra. He really likes bouncing on it now. He can also push himself backwards on one of his toys that we bought him a while back. It's a walker that converts into a car that he can now sit on.

Matthias is doing well. He is officially sleeping through the night!! He has moved into his crib and seems not to notice. It's nice not having the pack and play set up in our room now too. It makes our room seem a lot bigger!! Justus doesn't seem to notice that Matthias is in there either, which was a concern of ours. Even when Matthias cries or makes noises Justus just sleeps right through it. Matthias is a lot more alert now during the day, which is kind of nice. I have started sitting with him in the boys' room and reading to him or just playing with toys with him. He doesn't seem to notice it too much, but it's nice that at least he is awake for it.

Snow Day

Matthias is 3 months old today!! I can't believe it!! He is doing well, although he has now caught Justus' cold. Poor little guy. He doesn't seem to mind very much, although he doesn't seem to want to eat as much right now. He has now transitioned into sleeping in his crib!! I definitely enjoy him not being in our room since every little noise he made would wake me up. He is now sleeping until at least 6:30, so that is kind of nice. The past couple of days he has slept until after 7, but I'm not sure if it's because he is sick or not.

So last night we got about 3-5 inches of snow. I was pretty excited since this is the first real snow we've had since Justus has been able to walk. I decided to take him out in it this morning to see if he would like it. He just stood there for the most part. At one point he did try to eat the snow, but then realized it was really cold. So then his nose itched and so he went to go rub his nose....this is what happened....

I then decided it was time for us to go back inside. Hopefully we will try again tomorrow while Jon is home so that I can use the video camera.

Justus is feeling much better now. Hopefully he and Matthias don't keep passing this cold back and forth. He has been a little cranky the past couple of days, but I think maybe he still isn't feeling all too well. I'm thinking it will pass within the next couple of days though. He is starting to imitate Jon and I a lot more. If we make a sound he will usually try to make the same sound. It's pretty cute. He also has a little car that he likes to play with and Jon would make a "vroom" sound when he was playing with him. Well, now Justus has started to make a "vroom" sound when he plays with the car as well. I will have to try to get a video of it because it is really cute.
