It's been a crazy week!! Easter weekend was mostly spent traveling to Mt. Vernon, and hanging out with Jon's family on Easter Sunday. It was a lot of fun, but I was glad when it was over...I was exhausted! We didn't really do anything special for Easter. Justus got some candy from my parents, but that was about the extent of his Easter presents. We haven't really decided what kind of traditions we want to start with the boys yet. I guess we have another year to think about it : ).
So after the boys doctor's appointments they were both somewhat cranky. Matthias was especially fussy. We weren't sure if it was due to his shots or because of switching him back to soy formula. After a few more days of excessive fussiness we decided to switch him off of soy formula and try lactose-free formula. I had looked on a couple different websites and they had said sometimes the sugar in milk can cause babies problems. He is now doing MUCH better. He isn't spitting up and he is a happy baby once again!! Matthias does happen to have a little cough right now though : (.
Justus has been a little cranky as well. We aren't really sure what his deal is right now. We don't know if he is teething or if he is just getting to that "terrible 2" stage. He's happy most of the time, but he is now starting to throw little fits when he doesn't get his way. Sometimes he even throws himself on the floor...it's quite a site to see. He had a little bit of a runny nose last week, so we are hoping that maybe he just isn't feeling good and it will soon go away. He's also been waking up at about 6:30 a.m. and staying up, which makes him pretty cranky in the morning. He has been taking two naps a day to compensate for getting up early.
I don't think I ever mentioned that Jon did finally get his promotion!! It "officially" started last Monday, although he's been doing the job for quite some time. It's nice that he is finally getting paid for it though!! Jon is just waiting for them to fill his old position so that he will be able to unload some of his current tasks.
No other news to share and no pictures this time!

Growing Boys
Today was Justus' and Matthias' doctor's appointment. Things went really well, although kind of hectic since Jon was unable to go with me. The boys are both getting so big!! Justus weighed in at 28 lbs. 3 oz. and was 32 in. tall (75th percentile on height and 80th on weight). Matthias weighed in at 17 lbs. 2 oz. and was 25 1/2 in. tall (70th percentile on height and 90th on weight). The doctor said both of them looked great! They both had to get shots today as well, so they were both somewhat cranky this evening. They are both fast asleep now, so I finally feel a little more relaxed!
Just a quick note...Matthias has now rolled over from his tummy to his back!! I thought it was pretty exciting.
Here's a few pictures!!
Justus LOVES hiding behind the curtains! I'm not sure he realizes we can see him though.
Justus being goofy.
Almost there....
Rolling over is hard work!
Matthias is super excited about playing with his toys!

Spring is in the air!
Things here are going really well. We sold Jon's car about a week and a half ago. We were shocked to get as many calls as we did. Jon was sad to see the convertible go, but maybe someday he'll have another one. The car was beyond what we could do at this time...it needed a new engine.
The weather has been so beautiful this week. The boys and I have enjoyed a little time outside, which has been a nice change from the indoors. On Tuesday we headed to the park and yesterday afternoon was spent in our backyard. Justus loves being outside! He had fun picking up sticks and playing with some wiffle balls. He also managed to find the only little bit of mud in our yard! Instead of rushing to clean him up (like I normally would) I just let him stay dirty. Boys will be boys...right?
We are in the process of teaching Justus to point at his nose and his ears. So far he just thinks it's funny when we touch his hand to his nose or ears. We'll get there eventually. Justus is getting so big. I'm pretty sure he has had a little growth spurt recently because he is getting so tall. He goes to the doctor next week, so I guess I will find out then how much he has grown. He is now fitting in 24 months shirts. A lot of his 18 months shirts still fit him, but are getting kind of short on him. We are going to a garage sale this Saturday, and will hopefully get him some summer clothes and possibly even clothes for fall.
Matthias is getting bigger as well. He laughs and smiles quite a bit, and is very close to rolling from his back to his tummy. He can get onto his side, but can't quite make it the rest of the way over. We'll be working on that one. I can't believe he is already 4 1/2 months old!!
Here are a few pictures to enjoy!
Justus having fun at the park!
He got a bath once we got inside...He was a mess!
Justus was trying to sneak out of the backyard.

So I finally got the Exersaucer out for Matthias to play with. He seems to like it okay. He isn't old enough to really understand it though. I think Justus has more fun with it than Matthias does, but that will change soon. I think Matthias has more fun watching Justus have fun with the Exersaucer, so I guess it all evens out!
I also put away all of Matthias' 0-3 months clothes. It was kind of sad thinking that I might not get to use them again if baby #3 (and possibly our final baby) is a little girl. : ( It also means that Matthias is getting older and bigger. That's just life though.
Here are a few pictures of Matthias enjoying his Exersaucer...
