It's hard to believe that Matthias will be 11 months old in less than a week!! We have started him on milk...kind of. I've been doing half formula/half milk in his bottle. He doesn't really like to drink anything that is really cold, so I'm breaking him in gently. He is getting on more of a schedule with his meals now too, and even eating some table food. He's doing really well with it. Matthias is also a cruisin' machine! He will even walk with the assistance of the walker that we have. It's pretty exciting, but also a reminder that he's getting to be a big boy.

Justus is really starting to talk a lot more. He will even repeat some words...but only when he feels like it. He can be a little stubborn some times ; ). The switch to the toddler bed is still going well. He still gets up quite a bit, but he is getting better. He is getting up really early though, and in doing so waking Matthias up as well. The nice part is that both boys have been taking really good naps because of it.

Things here are going great! Still no luck with selling the house, but we aren't too concerned. It will sell eventually. Here are a couple of pictures.

Things here are going great!! We still haven't sold our house, but are hopeful it will sell by winter. We aren't in any rush, but we are ready to make the move. We know God's timing is perfect, so when it happens we know it will be the right time.

We had an eventful week with Jon celebrating his 27th birthday. We celebrated with pizza and baseball. We also got to go to the Cubs/Cards game on Thursday night, which was a lot of fun. It rained a little bit, but our seats were covered. It never got bad enough for a delay, which we were thankful for since Jon had to work the next morning. The best part was the Cubs won!

The boys are doing great. Matthias now has two teeth. He is also starting to cruise, which is pretty exciting. I am so excited for him to start walking and for the boys to be a little more interactive. I'm not trying to rush him though. I need to learn to enjoy every stage of his development. Matthias will be switching to milk in just a couple of weeks. We are looking forward to not having to buy formula.

Justus is doing well also. He is adjusting to his toddler bed pretty well. We still have to go in and put him back in bed a couple of times, but it is getting better. He sleeps really well, and has been sleeping in a little later. At first he was getting up super early and waking up Matthias, which was making for two cranky boys later in the day. He is now sleeping until 7ish most mornings, which is an improvement from 6. Nap time is a little more tricky because Justus isn't super tired and doesn't want to lay down. I've decided that even if he doesn't fall asleep he needs quiet time.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Today is Jon's birthday!! We celebrated with balloons, pizza, ice cream cake, Cubs baseball, and hop on pop. I made the boys shirts to wear, although Justus' was a little small. He didn't mind though. Jon had a good birthday and now we are just relaxing.

Big Boy Bed

We have transitioned Justus into a "big" boy bed. Justus crib converts into a toddler bed, so we decided it was time to make the switch. We wanted to do it before we moved so that he wasn't overwhelmed with change. We had thought about going straight to a twin sized bed, but figured this would save a little room for the time being. Justus did pretty good last night at bedtime. Of course he played in his room for a little while...keeping both he and Matthias awake for at least an hour after bedtime. Jon went in 2-3 times and put him back in his bed. After getting stern with him the final time, he fell asleep in his bed. We don't have a guard rail up, so Justus actually fell out once. He cried for a second until Jon picked him up and put him back in his bed...he then fell right asleep. Nap time went pretty well today as well...same kind of thing happened as last night...minus Justus falling out of the bed. So far so good tonight.

A small other note...Matthias' first tooth broke through his gums today! His bottom right middle tooth.

Has It Really Been 10 Months!?!

Matthias is 10 months old today!! Jon and I are so amazed at how big he is getting. He is now pulling himself up and even cruising! We know it won't be long before he is walking. He is also starting to figure the sippy cup out and the fact that you have to tilt it back in order to get a drink. I will be so glad when we transition him to sippy cups only. As of today, Matthias is 1 month away from being switched to milk! We are super excited about cutting the expense of formula out of our grocery fund. Milk is just so much easier to...no measuring and no mixing.

Justus is doing great! He has really started talking a lot more lately. He has a much larger vocabulary than a month ago. He still won't repeat after us, but he is using words rather than whines a lot more. Justus loves being outside, so I have been trying to spend a little more time outside with him since it has cooled off. We usually venture out into the yard when Matthias goes down for his afternoon nap. He loves playing catch with me and he loves just running and jumping around the yard. Justus has also started eating a larger variety of things. I can get him to try just about anything now, which is a huge change from even a few months ago.

We are certainly enjoying our Labor Day weekend. Our Sunday school teacher had us over yesterday for a pool party/bbq. We attempted to take the boys swimming. It went okay. Matthias was okay with the pool as long as one of us was holding him. He didn't like sitting in his little floating crab, but we were okay with just holding him. Justus however hated everything about the pool. He did not want to come into the pool. When he finally got in he cried and screamed the entire time. We tried to show him it wasn't scary, but our efforts did nothing to persuade him. If anyone has any tips on how to get Justus to enjoy swimming I'm open to hearing them! Even though Justus would get in we still had a fun time swimming and Justus had a fun time running around the pool area. Hope you are enjoying your Labor Day!!
