Icky Sicky...

Turns out whatever Justus had...we all have now : (. It all started when Matthias wouldn't eat in the middle of the night yesterday. All day long he was disinterested in his bottle. I couldn't get him to eat more than an ounce at a time, and when I did he would spit it back up. His doctor told me that as long as he wasn't running a fever and he was having wet diapers that he would be fine. Then Jon came home from work saying that his stomach had been bothering him all day. So I thought I had escaped but then late last night I started feeling really sick as well. Needless to say we are all sick. Hopefully it will pass by tomorrow and we will all be back to our normal selves.

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our anniversary! We celebrated by putting Justus to bed early and ordering out food. We had a great evening. It was actually really relaxing. I kept Justus up all afternoon so that he would be ready for bed a little earlier than normal. I was able to put him down about 45 minutes early and he fell right asleep. Matthias doesn't cause too many problems, so we were able to enjoy our dinner fuss free! Jon got me a whole bunch of goodies from Bath & Body Works. I got him a new mouse pad with a picture of me and the boys for work and some pajama pants. Nothing too exciting.
So last night was rather strange. Justus woke up from his afternoon nap and when I went in to get him he had gotten sick everywhere. It stunk in his room. Anyways, so I get him up thinking that he maybe had too much milk or drank it too fast or something because that's all that he had thrown up. I put him in the bath tub and he seemed okay, but then he just kept getting sick. He didn't have a fever and after he would get sick he would be fine...he would smile and walk around. We tried to feed him a little something, but that didn't work. We made sure to keep him hydrated, and he ended up going to bed around 9. When he got up this morning he was back to normal. It was so weird, and the first time he had ever gotten sick like that. I'm not sure if he had a stomach bug or if it was just the milk. I take Matthias to the doctor next week, so I might ask him about it then. In other Justus news...his top left front tooth finally broke through the gumline!! No signs of any other teeth right now, but I'm sure there will be soon.
Justus got a new coat and hat this weekend, and he looks so cute in his hat. I just have to share a picture!!

He's getting so big already!!

Happy Anniversary!!

What a crazy weekend!! We had a good time hanging out with Jon's family even though it was a hectic weekend. Thursday we traveled up to Springfield to have Thanksgiving dinner with Jon's family. Everyone of course loved seeing the boys! We had planned on Jon's family coming down to see us on Friday, but due to Jon's family's schedules we ended up traveling up there and staying the night on Friday to maximize our time with them. We really had a good time, and Jon's aunt and uncle even watched Justus on Friday night so that we could go out to eat. It was kind of nice to go out on a little date, which we don't get to do very often. Justus just loved all the attention he got from his grandpa, two uncles, and his aunt. He was sure exhausted by Saturday though. He fell asleep while being held, which NEVER happens, so we knew he was worn out. Matthias didn't know the difference : ). Jon's dad also treated us and bought us an early Christmas present...a camcorder! We are pretty excited to use it and record the boys while they are still little.

Justus LOVES to walk! He is pretty cute...okay he is really cute!! He doesn't care where he is walking to as long as he is walking. He will sometimes just walk circles. He really loved being in the lobby of the hotel with all the open space.

We are still working with Justus and his eating habits. He is a very picky eater, and won't try anything new. He is very sensitive to textures, so hopefully he will soon overcome that. He has tried a couple of the 3rd foods, but will only take a couple of bites before playing defense and putting his hands in front of his mouth. I tried to mash some frozen vegetable for him to try since he won't pick up green beans, carrots, or peas, but it didn't work. I know he likes the flavor of them, so I think it's just the texture. I'm sure he will get over it eventually. I will probably talk to the doctor about it the next time I go though.

Saturday night the Wilson's came over and saw us. It was really neat to see them and their new baby who is 2 days older than Matthias. It was fun to take pictures of the boys together, and just to see how totally different they are. Matthias goes back to the doctor next week, which I am pretty excited about.

Jon and I celebrate our 3rd anniversary on Tuesday!! I don't know that we are going to do anything too exciting, but we will see. It's so crazy to think that we have been married 3 years!! We have truly been blessed in our marriage, and are looking forward to many more years together!!

This is a rarity!

Justus is 11 months old today!! He is getting so big!! I just can't believe that 11 months has gone by so quickly. He is now walking...a lot! It's so cute to watch him walk. He is still pretty stiff legged when he walks, but he is getting a lot smoother. He still has to pull himself up on something, but he loves walking!
We have had a weird schedule the few nights. Justus' sleeping schedule is completely thrown off! The good thing is that I usually get to sleep in. It all started Thursday night when we met Jon's dad and his uncle, who is in from NV, at Cracker Barrel. We were out until after 9. Friday we had spades night, and he was up until we left that, which was probably close to 11. Saturday we were in Mt. Vernon and he stayed up until around 10. So last night he just didn't want to go to sleep, and today he woke up at 6:30, but then fell back asleep until almost noon!! With Thanksgiving and traveling I doubt he will be back on a normal schedule until next week.
Matthias is still doing great! He is still sleeping most of the day, but he is becoming more alert. He usually only wakes up for about 15 minutes at a time, but that is becoming more common now. He is such a good sleeper, which has been really nice. I'm excited to go back to the doctor in a couple of weeks to see how much he has grown. I can tell he has gotten bigger!

I took the boys outside for a little while today just because it was so beautiful. Justus loved playing in the leaves, and sticking things in his mouth! I don't think Matthias even noticed he was out of the house. Here's a couple of pictures to enjoy!!

For Starters...

Life with two boys is going pretty smoothly so far. Jon's first day back at work was this past Monday. Sunday night I was feeling very anxious thinking about having no help, but Monday actually went very well. The hardest part of the day is just making sure I'm giving each of the boys enough attention. Justus usually doesn't mess with the baby too much. I am trying really hard not to tell him "NO" all the time when it comes to the baby. I definitely don't want him thinking that he can never be around the baby. I usually just have to watch him closely when he touches Matthias. He usually is pretty gentle, but sometimes he wants to grab the baby. Matthias usually just sleeps right through it, so I guess Justus isn't bothering him too much.

This week has started a new adventure as well. Justus is walking!! He doesn't walk all the time, but he has now gained the confidence to walk without holding onto anything. Before this week he was always really "goal oriented" in walking, but now he will just let go and walk...with no "goal" to reach. Sometimes he just walks to the middle of the room, stands there, looks around, and then sits down. It's pretty cute. It's almost as if he's saying, "I'm going to walk over there and stand just because I can." Also new this week...Justus has started drinking milk! I don't think he even noticed. The only thing I'm worried about is him not wanting to eat table food. With formula he was getting all the extra vitamins, but now he won't be getting that. I'm still feeding him jar food for now. I've been trying to introduce new table foods, but I've discovered that if the food is wet or mushy he won't even try it. He knows how to chew food, so I know that's not the issue. He'll touch it once, and then make a face. I've tried putting it on a spoon and feeding it to him, and that doesn't work either. I guess maybe he is going to be a picky eater. We are still trying to get him to eat things though. I think i might just try frozen vegetables and kind of mash them up a little bit, and feed them to him that way. We'll see how that goes.

Here's some pictures to enjoy!

I just love that Justus is laughing in this picture!

One of the few things Justus will actually eat...wagon wheels.

This is pretty much all Matthias does.

I figured I would give this blog a try instead of updating two different sites for each of the boys. I just don't have enough time to devote to both sites, so I thought this would be a little easier. We will see how it goes!!
